Quartier BricolÉ

Actions

Flow of Diversity

Bruges will use vacant shops and buildings in the so called ‘gate streets’ for creative projects and offer displaying, selling and business start up opportunities for, mainly young, starting designers of handmade design. They aim for the sustainability of the Quartier Bricoléshop, a shop where young handcrafts designers can display their work, next to the realization of at least 4 temporary pop-up stores or exhibition projects.

Learning Lab:

Bruges will develop and test different ways to obtain education and exchange in the field of contemporary design, based on old handcraft techniques in the Creative Zone Bruges. The aim is to establish an exchange network of designers and stimulate an environment where creative entrepreneurs in the field of handcraft design can optimally learn from each other and from experts, and develop their skills and capacities.

Cultural Business Modelling:

The aim of the project is to develop a package of support measures for starting creative designers in cooperation with different stakeholders and the designers themselves. These support measures can comprise interventions in the network of the companies, in their financial structure and their organisational structure. The aim is to test a range of these measures, discuss them with stakeholders and designers, and develop the best possible business model and supporting context for the field of young creative design in Bruges.
